This inspirational motto of professional illusionist Brad Ross has helped him experience the fulfillment of a dream; at the age of 26, he is set to share his magic with the world. Brad’s latest role is as master illusionist starring in Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show, a brand new live stage show featuring Mickey Mouse.
“As I got older, I started realizing the gift that magic had given me was the same gift I wanted to give audiences when I performed. Every day on stage, I hope I bring the audience into this magical world of possibility,” he says. When he was six years old, Brad took a magic class at the Jewish Community Center in his hometown of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Seven years of practice later, the young magician dubbed himself “Mr. Magic” and placed an ad in the local newspaper. This led to performances at children’s birthday parties and local town events, supplemented by charity shows for the young and old alike. Brad’s goal from the very beginning has been to truly entertain and transport. He wants to take the audience on a journey of wonder and curiosity, a journey into their own imagination. “If audience members allow themselves to become submerged in the magic, in the story, in the illusion of the show, then they will discover that the magic isn’t just on stage, but the magic is inside of them,” Brad says.
This guiding philosophy helped Brad develop as an inspiring and entertaining illusionist. All of his hard work and dedication paid off when he headlined at Six Flags Great Adventure in “World of Magic,”[over 1,200 performances] a high-energy show that involved large scale illusions on stage and plenty of comedy and audience interaction. Brad points out that audience interaction is an element of magic off which he thrives, and that he values in his work. “As an illusionist, I can interact directly with the audience and bring audience members on stage,” Brad says. “When you can invite moms, dads and kids to come on stage and assist, it engages them in the show and gives them an unforgettable experience in magic.” Brad Ross has been dazzling audiences of all ages for over a decade and has entertained more than 2.5 million people world wide.
